Back to School Shake

Christopher started back to school today and I wanted to give him a nice afternoon treat when he got home. Since school now starts in August we are always experiencing extreme heat. What better way to cool off than with a refreshing shake! This Peanut Butter and Jelly Milk Shake hits the spot. Give it a try and let me know what you think.

Peanut Butter and Jelly Milk Shake
Makes 1 Serving

3 scoops vanilla ice cream
2 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
2 tablespoons strawberry preserves
1/2 cup whole milk
1 tablespoon vanilla syrup

Put the ice cream in the blender and add peanut butter and preserves. Add milk. Finally add vanilla syrup. Blend on low speed until ingredients are mixed, then on higher speed until mixture becomes smooth and thick. Pour into your favorite shake glass and enjoy!

Hugs,
Jenni

Soap Sweater Contest Winner

And the moment you've all been waiting for... the winner of the Soap Sweater Contest was Gayle T. I will be mailing your gift this Monday. Thank you all for your participation. I loved hearing about your favorite summertime activities. Although I am not a fan of summer heat, I do love to BBQ and sit outside in the breeze under the trees. Coming soon I will post one of my favorite recipes. To kick off the new school year, this September I will be having another giveaway contest. Be sure to check back for these exciting updates.

Memories

After attending my first Angel game since my Dad's passing, I realized that I don't have many memories that aren't directly tied to my Dad. Although I know it is not a quick or easy process to not completely mourn the loss I feel, I also know that it will be especially long and painful for me. Dad was one of my best friends. There has not been a day that I haven't thought about him and cried over the loss. While mulling it all over I've been learning to play guitar again on my Dad's guitar. Even when challenging I find myself determined to push through those hard times and find joy in what I'm doing. I don't ever plan to be a guitar virtuoso, but it sure has been fun learning to relax with my guitar.

If you've lost someone special to you I'd love to hear about how you honor their memory.
